Dr Adenuga: Man of the Year 2009 PDF Print E-mail

The Chairman of Globacom, Dr. Mike Adenuga has won the Silverbird Man of the Year award for two thousand and nine.

Dr. Adenuga secured over seventy five percent of the votes to beat other four nominees. 

Adenuga’s Globacom launch its Glo Broadband Access Service anchored on the company’s state-of-the-art optical fibre cable last year. It connects over forty cities in Nigeria and in is reputed to be the largest of such network not just in Nigeria but in Africa.


This network enables users to harness the power of instant connectivity, congestion-free traffic and high capacity for enormous volumes of voice, data and video as well as affordability.

Dr. Mike Adenuga is an alumnus of Ibadan Grammer School and North Western State University, Alva Oklahoma in the United States.

He is the fifth winner of the prestigious Silverbird Man of the Year award.

The current Minister of Information and Communications, Professor Dora Akunyili was the first to win the award in two thousand and five, followed by former FCT Minister, Nasir El-Rufai, Former EFCC Chairman, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu and Edo State Governor Adams Oshiomole.
