Ben Murray-Bruce

Ben Murray-Bruce is the visionary Chairman and Founder of Silverbird Group, one of Africa’s leading media and entertainment conglomerates. Since founding the company in 1980, he has led its transformation from a six-man startup into a multi-platform powerhouse spanning television, radio, cinema, film distribution, and real estate.
A pioneer in entertainment broadcasting and content creation, Ben introduced globally recognized platforms like the Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria pageant and launched Rhythm FM and Silverbird Television, redefining youth-driven programming in West Africa. Under his leadership, Silverbird Cinemas became a trailblazer in film exhibition across Nigeria and Ghana, while the Group’s expansion into real estate and partnerships such as the $145 million Afreximbank-backed film academy project—reinforce its role in shaping Africa’s creative economy.
A graduate of the University of Southern California, Ben Murray-Bruce is an award-winning media executive, former Director-General of the Nigerian Television Authority, and served as Senator for Bayelsa East. He holds the national honour of Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON) and remains a leading voice in innovation, governance, and business strategy.
